What’s new

Real updates, in order, as they ship — not a marketing recap. If a studio owner asked us what changed this month, this is the answer.

  1. Payments & Packages

Buy a package, class, or gift card straight from a link you share

A studio can now publish a storefront page — one link, shareable anywhere — where a client picks a package, a single class, a membership, or a gift card and pays for it themselves. No app, no login screen first. The button label changes to match what's being sold (package, class, membership, or gift), and the page picks up your studio's own brand colors and logo automatically.

  2. Payments & Packages

Memberships can now be purchased self-serve

Starting or renewing a membership no longer has to route through a card-on-file phone call. A client can complete membership checkout on their own from the client portal or a shared storefront link, and the subscription lifecycle (billing cycle, renewal, grace period) is handled the same way as before.

  3. Becky, your AI receptionist

Becky can draft your staff announcement — you still approve it

Instead of opening What's New and typing it yourself, you can tell Becky what you want your instructors to know and she'll draft the announcement, tell you who it will reach, and post it to the staff feed only after you confirm. It's a staff-only channel — this never touches client SMS or email.

  4. Payments & Packages

Buy a gift card on behalf of a client

An owner can now purchase and assign a gift card directly to a client's account — useful for comping a session, running a promotion, or handling a gift a client arranged outside the app. It shows up on the client's record the same way a self-purchased gift card would.

  5. Becky, your AI receptionist

Becky can log a Venmo, Zelle, or cash payment for you

If a payment lands somewhere Becky can't see automatically — a handed-over cash payment, a Venmo sent to a personal account — you can tell her about it and she'll record it against the right client and package, instead of it sitting unmatched until you get to it manually.

  6. Payments & Packages

Family members can share one package

Studios can link family members into one group so a single package's credits can cover any of them — a parent buys a 10-pack and any linked child or spouse can draw from it. Becky understands the linkage too, so a text asking to book "my daughter" against the family package resolves correctly instead of coming back as a separate, uncovered client.

  7. Payments & Packages

Cancelled sessions bank for 60 days instead of just disappearing

When a client cancels a session tied to a membership, the credit doesn't just vanish — it's banked for 60 days, so it can be applied to a future booking instead of being lost outright. This mirrors how a studio owner would actually want a late cancellation handled: fair to the client, without giving away unlimited make-ups.

  8. Becky, your AI receptionist

Becky can book a class straight off banked credit, over text

If a client has account credit sitting from a cancelled session or an overpayment, Becky can apply it to a new booking in the same text thread — including a partner's banked credit covering someone else's class, when a studio allows it. No separate step, no reminder to "use it before it expires."

  9. Scheduling & Booking

Two weeks of your calendar, one glance

The This Week view now shows two weeks at once instead of one, and each day states plainly what it holds — so an owner planning a week of substitutes or coverage doesn't have to click forward and back to see what's coming.

  10. Becky, your AI receptionist

Becky can answer 'when are you open' with your real schedule

Becky can now read a studio's actual configured availability — studio hours and per-instructor schedules — instead of guessing from booked classes alone. A client asking when a specific instructor teaches gets an answer grounded in the real settings, not an inference.

  11. Payments & Packages

    Gift cards

Studios can sell stored-value gift cards through BookYourMat, branded with the studio's own logo in the confirmation email. A recipient redeems the code on the studio's booking page, and it's assigned to their account automatically — the code can't be reused once claimed.

  12. Scheduling & Booking

A heads-up the moment a class has no instructor assigned

If a scheduled class occurrence loses instructor coverage — a sub fell through, nobody claimed an open shift — the dashboard now surfaces it and the owner gets notified, instead of finding out when a client shows up to an empty room.

  13. Platform

⌘K now searches your clients too

The command palette (⌘K / Ctrl+K) already jumped you to pages and settings — it now searches your client list as well, so pulling up a specific client's record is a keystroke away from anywhere in the dashboard.

  14. Scheduling & Booking

Duet and partner bookings auto-assign an instructor

Booking a duet or partner session now pulls from the pool of instructors actually available for that slot and assigns one automatically, with a preview of any partner charges before the booking is confirmed — one less manual step when two clients want the same session together.

  15. Payments & Packages

Paused memberships pause booking access too

When a membership is paused or lapses into a grace period, booking access now follows the billing state automatically, with continuity rules so a client who catches up on payment during the grace period doesn't lose their standing. Owners no longer have to remember to manually lock out a paused account.
